If every creature needs a proper habitat to live, a place meets its living conditions. Then the place where art happens might also rely on certain criteria of living environment.
In ”Flies 8:The ten thousand beings”, every work needs certain geographical criteria to exist. The wash-machine in the house, the road to the nuclear plant and the field waiting for construction in a new town, they unfold and spread out from existing geographical space and become a new narrative form in the images. The new work “New Town” is an extension of previous workshop “Local Stories”. In the workshop, the urban legends and rumors of a newly-developed town were collected and re-edited into a radio drama. Within (or before) the developing of the new town, forming of a new area, what exactly happened under the fine buried clean grounds? The concepts of works in the show mainly focus on living environments. I want to discover the neglected part and the buried memories. Through providing them more connections to the surrounding environment, they might find another way to live on.
